    Biography

    Dongsan Jun (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering and computer science from Pusan National University, Busan, South Korea, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, South Korea, in 2004 and 2011, respectively.

    He joined the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Daejeon, South Korea, in 2004, where he served as a Principal Researcher.

    From March 2018 to August 2021, he was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Kyungnam University, Changwon, South Korea.

    In September 2021, he joined the Department of Computer Engineering at Dong-A University, Busan, South Korea, where he is currently an Associate Professor and the Vice Dean of the College of Software.

    He has been actively involved in international video coding standardization through ISO/IEC MPEG and ITU-T VCEG activities.

    He has served as a reviewer for leading international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT) and IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM), and as a Guest Editor for several international journals.

    He is a member of the IEEE Signal Processing and Circuits and Systems Societies.

    His research interests include video compression and standardization, deep learning, 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS), and image and video super-resolution.
